Petrofac, Tecnicas Reunidas tipped for Saudi Aramco deals

Two European companies are tipped to win contracts to build installations for state oil firm Saudi Aramco, it has been reported.

British oilfield services company Petrofac and Spain’s Tecnicas Reunidas are likely to win contracts at the Uthmaniyah and Ras Tanura plants in Saudi Arabia, unnamed industry sources told Reuters.

The news agency said that Tecnicas Reunidas is the lowest bidder to build units to remove sulphur from refined oil products at Ras Tanura refinery.

Petrofac is said to be “the front-runner” to build a gas treatment facility at Uthmaniyah gas plant, expected to cost around $600 million, Reuters said, citing unnamed sources.

Tecnicas Reunidas and Saudi Aramco did not respond to a requested for comment, and Petrofac did not comment when contacted by Reuters.
