Saudi Arabia ‘to launch new mega projects’

New industrial developments by Saudi Aramco are in the pipeline – report

Saudi Arabia is set to commence a number of new “mega development projects”, it has been reported.

King Salman, on a visit to the Eastern Province, is set to launch the projects, including those of Saudi Aramco and Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, the Saudi Gazette reported.

Prince Saud Bin Naif, emir of the Eastern Province, said that the King “will lay foundation stone and open several projects”, including housing, infrastructure, energy, and petrochemical developments.

Other projects set to launch include “some of the world’s largest mining projects” in Raas Al-Khair and Jubail, the newspaper reported.

Saudi Aramco projects to be launched include increasing the production capacity of Manifa field, the fifth largest oil field in the world. Works include the construction and expansion of a new processing infrastructure, it was reported.

Other Saudi Aramco projects include the Wasit Gas Plant, and the expansion of its Khurais oil field.
