Nakheel ‘floats public tender for Dragon City Warehouses’

Scope of work covers roadworks, solar powered lighting poles, pocket substation foundations and relevant utility service networks

Developer Nakheel has floated a public tender for the construction and modification of infrastructure for Dragon City Warehouses in Dubai, it has been reported.

According to a Zawya Projects, the scope of work covers roadworks, solar powered lighting poles, pocket substation foundations and relevant utility service networks.

“The contract is expected to be awarded by mid-March 2017,” a source told Zawya Projects. The tender documents are available for a non-refundable fee of 2,500 dirhams ($681) according to the invite.

The final date of tender submission is January 30, 2017.

In August 2016, Nakheel said that it had awarded a $31.9 million contract to Al Ghurair Contracting & Engineering Works to deliver a showroom complex at Dragon City in Dubai, according to a statement.

The 375,000 square foot retail centre will comprise of 18 showrooms and a multi-storey car park for 900 vehicles.

The developer added that all of the 118,000 square feet of leasing space has already been booked. Construction of the showrooms has begun, with a completion target of Q4 2018.
