Pre-qualification entries are currently being evaluated by the Qatar Railways Company (Qrail) for its multi-billion dollar Doha metro scheme, it was announced on Wednesday.
Bidders will be competing for the contract to build elevated sections of the metro scheme; Qrail has already allotted tenders for the four underground packages, in addition to a package for two major building stations.
Deadline set by Qrail for the four tunnelling packages is October 28, while that for the station package was set for September 9, 2012. 
Elevated sections in the project are scheduled to be completed by 2012. The Doha Metro is made up of four track lines and stretches over 300 km, with 80 stations built alongside the lines linking to the New Doha International airport (NDIA).
The metro will also connect to the centre of Doha, in addition to a number of stadiums which are set to host the 2022 World Cup.
