Kuwait changes location of renewable energy project

Ministry will move park from Abdaly to Shagaya because of reduced dust exposure

The Kuwaiti Electricity and Water Ministry has decided to move the location of its planned multi-technology renewable energy park from Abdaly to Shagaya because it “has less dust exposure,” according to MEED.

The ministry will select contractors to carry out the project on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis. The park is to consist of a 10MW wind project, a 10MW photovoltaic solar project and a 50MW concentrated solar power facility.

Each of the facilities will be tendered separately. The tender for the project was set to be floated next September, but with Ramadan and Eid holidaysthis is likely to be pushed back to October.
