Abu Dhabi’s $1bn Reem Mall ‘delayed until 2020’

Opening pushed back by two years, partly due to issues with design and delays in receiving approvals – report

The opening of the $1 billion Reem Mall in Abu Dhabi has been pushed back by two years to 2020, Reuters reported.

The delay of the project on Reem Island is partly due to issues with design and delays in receiving approvals, the news agency said, quoting Al Farwaniya Chief Executive Shane Eldstrom.

A new tender will be awarded later this year, Eldstrom was reported as saying.
