Oman’s Khalid Bin Ahmed & Sons wins $108m road contract

Project part of the first phase of the up gradation of the Sinaw-Mahut-Duqm road in the Sultanate

Khalid Bin Ahmed & Sons, a leading road construction company based in the Sultanate of Oman, has won a $108.2m road works contract from the Ministry of Transport and Communications, it was announced on Sunday.

The project part of the first phase of the up gradation of the Sinaw-Mahut-Duqm road in the Sultanate, the managing director of the construction firm said.

Surendra Kumar added that the company had also been awarded another contract for the construction of an $8.17m road bridge in the Wilayat of Sur by the same ministry.

He told the Times of Oman, a daily newspaper, that the company was aware of the challenges that ahead as it aimed to complete the projects on scheduled, but stressed that it was fully prepared to meet them.

Furthermore, Kumar said that he expected to get more contracts in Oman over the coming years.
