Oman’s Galfar Engineering and Contracting Company has said the construction of Azaiba Hotel near the Airport Heights in Muscat is progressing on schedule with opening set by mid-2013.
Developed by the Azaiba Hotel LLC, the $78m, five-star property will have 240 rooms, four differently-themed restaurants and multi-level basement parking.
The project is managed by Mfar Hotels and Resorts Limited, an Indian hotel Group owned by Dr P Mohammed Ali, vice chairman and managing director of Galfar. He is also a major stakeholder in Azaiba Hotel LLC.
Once completed, Azaiba Hotel will be one of the five hotels that the Sultanate is expecting to receive in the next few years.
