The Bahraini Labour Ministry has unveiled a new labour law for the Kingdom’s private sector,which grants workers dismissed without valid justification the right to compensation.
The new legislation is key to regulating the relationship between workers and their employers, boosting stability of the labour market and economic growth, said Labour Minister, Jameel Humaidan.
“The new law will contribute to employment of national labour force and help solve unemployment,” the minister said. 
Under the new law, paid maternity leave has been increased to 60 days; women are now allowed to work day and night shifts; workers are entitled to 30 days of annual leave instead of the earlier 21 days.
Furthermore, workers are entitled to half pay if they report to work but can’t fulfil their duties for reasons beyond the employer’s control.
