HE Dr Florian Stegmann, State Secretary and Head of the State Chancellery in the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg, said: “Baden-Württemberg is proud to be part of Expo 2020 Dubai. With the pavilion, the Baden-Württemberg House, we will show a global audience the exceptional innovativeness of our region and the latest smart and sustainable solutions.”

The pavilion will showcase high-tech sustainable architecture and will have a cold air lake, which will be hidden from sight.

Visitors can wade through the lake once it is made visible by an ‘innovation cloud’, which is an artificially created layer of mist.

Expo organisers said in a statement that the design and content of the pavilion are a tribute to the region’s innovative spirit.

The pavilion will also have an interactive smart factory for visitors to get a hands-on feel for high-tech production processes of the future, while a ‘modern Black Forest parlour’ will provide a culinary treat.

The Baden-Württemberg House will be located at the Expo 2020 Dubai’s Opportunity District.

Najeeb Mohammed Al Ali, executive director at Expo 2020 Dubai described the Baden-Württemberg House as a symbol of success. He added: “Expo 2020 is proud to showcase the best of regional economies and their ability to make a global impact. Baden-Württemberg’s strength has been significantly shaped by focusing on both the global and the local, something that Expo 2020 aims to capture too.”

“As part of Expo 2020’s sustainable legacy plans, with 80 per cent of the site to be retained, Baden-Württemberg House will continue to connect minds and create the future post-Expo as a centre of learning,” concluded Katrin Schütz, State Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Baden-Württemberg.
