Bahrain Minister of Housing meets with Chinese construction firms

Chinese firms told about Gulf state’s plans to build major housing developments
Bahrain’s Minister of Housing has briefed Chinese construction firms about plans to build several major housing projects.

Bahraini Minister of Housing, Engineer Bassim Yaqoub Al Hammer, has met representatives of several Chinese firms to discuss several current and future housing projects in the Gulf state.

On the second day of his trip to Beijing, Eng Bassim met with members of the Chinese construction industry on the premises of the China International Contractors Association (CHINCA).

He informed them of several housing projects, including 40,000 residential units that are in consideration for an estimated $6.89 billion under the Five Year Plan (2012 – 2016).

The Minister informed them about the Ministry of Housing’s plans to implement major housing projects in new cities and residential blocks all over the Kingdom’s governorates.

He also informed them about Bahrain’s technical specifications and standards while exploring the possibilities of cooperation on implementing the housing projects.
