Bahrain sanitary works to be completed by 2014

$7.5m deal covers the extension of around 20km of main and secondary sanitary drainage pipes

The Bahraini cabinet said that work on a sanitary drainage network project at Busaiteen on Muharraq Island is on track to be completed by March 2014.

The contract for the construction of the project had been awarded to Abdul Rahman Mohamed Al Banna Contracting Company by the Ministry of Works.

Under the $7.05m deal, the construction firm is responsible for the extension of around 20km of main and secondary sanitary drainage pipes, with different diameters and construction of three pumping stations.

The project will involve connecting 650 homes to the sanitary drainage network, according to Asma’a Murad, the director of Sanitary Drainage Planning and Projects at the ministry.
